1997 Golden Demon Bronze Award. Necromunda Cawdor Gang

These were painted in early 1997 and were my first entry at the Golden Demon awards, later that same year. To be honest I never thought I stood much chance of success but I guess I had a bit of luck on the day. By today's standards, they aren't anything mega special. These guys are still pretty dear to me, though.

These below were the rest of the gang that didn't make it to Golden Demon. They never made it to a matt varnish either.

Rogue Trader Space Marines

I absolutely love this range. I remember some were quite hard to find back in the day, even in the GW shops. You'd get a lot of certain figures and others just never seemed to be there. I got most of these on ebay about 7 years ago and they were all pretty much painted at that time as well.

2nd Edition Blood Bowl Human Team

There was about a four year gap between starting these guys and finally finishing them off earlier this year.

The third catcher has had a head replacement from a Rogue Trader Space Marine.

These two linemen have been given new heads to avoid repetition, which I have never particularly liked in blood bowl teams. The first one is the head of the human chainsaw player and the other is a Bob Olley Iron Claw pirate (I think!) with a scratch built helmet.

Other Golden Demon entries of 1998

These guys made the cut but didn't get a place on the podium.

Chaos Ogre

Necromunda Orlock Voodoo Gang

1998 Golden Demon, Silver Award. Warhammer Single miniature. Bretonnian Knight

This was the second and last time I entered Golden Demon and was fortunate to come away with a silver.
