Citadel C33 Adventure Packs - Chaos Champion and Chaos Knight
So, as planned, I've managed to finish of the two remaining foot and mounted C33 Adventure series Chaos Champion and Knight for the army this week.
This now completes the four from that series, including the Chaos General and Chaos Hero, which I painted last year. I've said it before, these are among my favourite ever Citadel Miniatures and spent many years back in the 90's, long before ebay, trying to track them down second hand in independent gaming shops around the country. Being out of production for some years, proved extremely difficult but eventually, I got there but not without moving mountains first.
I certainly won't miss painting those ornamental tassles on the horse barding. There are about eight thin layers of red built up there with no dry brushing, which got a bit soul destroying by the end, especially doing the two horses simultaneously.
I've also said this before; the classic foot and mounted series has always been one of my favourite Citadel ranges, dating back to the pre slotta era and I really ought to paint more of them.
Meanwhile, this particular part of the army is complete and next up, continuing with the army, is something of the airborne variety.

Fantastic job. The colour depth really jumps out at me with some of the shields.

Yeah, I've said it a lot but I've championed the foot and mounted ranges for a long time. Thanks! The tassles are well worth the intricate layering stages.
DeleteI'd have to say I'm torn between the Hero with the gaping maw and his General. For me, they've always been a pairing, the malevolent supreme commander and his frenzied lieutenant.
Very nice painting on some very nice old models that ooze a certain 1970s flavor. Your painting really brings them to life. The shields are fantastic!
